AUTOMOTIVE SHOP MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE STANDARDS RELEASED
How Does The Software You Use Measure Up?

(Conroe, TX) – Kenneth Brotman, an industry veteran known for designing creative industry initiatives, has just released the Automotive Shop Management Software Standards for review and comment.

“I created the software standards to help shops select the right software and to express some values about what shop management software is now and can become”, Mr. Brotman said.

“The built in scoring system make it easier for shops to use the standards.  It’s important to evaluate the program – and the vendor!  The scoring system gives thirty percent of the weight to vendor criteria and the other seventy percent to program criteria”, says Mr. Brotman.

There are twenty categories to the standards and seventy-eight subcategories.  Subcategories can contain desirable and required elements.

“I also intend to recognize compliance with the standards,” Mr. Brotman said.  “Compliance with the standards is achieved by satisfying all the required elements.”

Shops, vendors and industry groups are encouraged to use the standards, reference the standards, and pass them around.

“That’s right!” says Mr. Brotman.  “I made the standards so they could be used.  I want people to use them.”

The standards can be viewed free of charge at www.automotiveservice.org.
