Master Repair 8000 by Summit Ordering Systems has not kept up with their competitors in recent years.  I was on the edge with this one.  I could have gone either way.  The feature set is barely good enough to move it through the initial screening but what is the point.  It wouldn’t have scored well compared to many of the other programs. 

What tipped my decision to eliminate Master Repair 8000 was the unacceptable advertising claims that in combination with the marginal feature set was just too much to let it through.  Here are some examples:

On the Home web page it states:

“The Leader in Repair Facility Management Software Since 1983″

On the Support web page it states:

“Summit Ordering Systems provides the best technical support in the industry”

On the About web page it states:

Summit Ordering Systems, provides an unparalleled product with import/export connections to all of the best f breed applications…”

On the Products web page it states:

“…making it the most stable, proven and comprehensive set of tools for management, administration and accounting in auto, truck, transmission and tire repair facilities.”

and

“Many have tried to duplicate our complete, easy-to-use solution.  There is no substitute for the real thing.”

Subjective claims of superiority based on personal opinions of intangible qualities or vendor pride should not be made. Any claim of superiority should be based on accepted standards and unbiased comparisons. Vendors must be able to substantiate any such claim.

Master Repair 8000 by Summit Ordering Systems is eliminated in initial screening.
